FOR ADULTS AGED 18 TO 60-PLUS

Career Change and Employment Support for Adults

You Are Not Starting Again. You Are Starting From Experience.

You may have completed university and discovered that qualifications alone do not guarantee the opportunity you were promised. You may have spent twenty years building a successful career, only to lose your job and suddenly find yourself struggling to get back into employment. You may still be working, paying your mortgage or rent and meeting your responsibilities, but privately know that the life you are living no longer feels like your own. You may be 25, 35, 45, 55 or beyond. Your circumstances may be different, but the feeling is often the same. You know something needs to change. I’M MORE helps adults rediscover confidence, recognise their capability and move towards meaningful employment, career change, entrepreneurship and a stronger sense of direction.

Capable People Are Being Left Questioning Their Value

There was a time when education, experience and loyalty were expected to create security. You gained qualifications. You worked hard. You built experience. You accepted responsibility and continued moving forward. But the employment market has changed. Qualifications do not always lead directly to graduate-level work. Experience does not automatically protect someone from redundancy. A long and successful career does not guarantee that another employer will immediately recognise the value a person can bring. The latest official figures estimated UK unemployment at 4.9% during March to May 2026. During the same period, there were approximately 2.5 unemployed people for every available vacancy. This does not mean that people have suddenly become less capable. It means more people are competing for opportunities in an employment environment that has become increasingly difficult to navigate. When applications are ignored, interviews do not materialise and automated rejection emails continue to arrive, people can begin to internalise what is happening. They stop seeing a difficult employment market and start believing they are the problem. They are not.

When University Does Not Lead Where You Expected

You followed the route you were told would open doors. You studied, completed assignments, passed examinations and gained your degree. You may also have taken on debt because you believed education would help you create a stronger future. Then you entered the employment market and discovered something very different. Entry-level jobs ask for experience you have not yet had the opportunity to gain. Graduate schemes attract hundreds or thousands of applicants. Some roles appear to require a degree while offering little more than basic entry-level pay. You may feel overqualified for one position and under-experienced for the next.

Government graduate labour-market figures show that 87.6% of working-age graduates were employed in 2024, but only 67.9% were in high-skilled employment. The figures demonstrate that being employed and securing work that fully uses a person’s graduate-level capability are not necessarily the same thing. After enough applications and rejection, even a highly capable graduate can begin to lose confidence. You may start comparing yourself with friends who appear to be progressing. You may feel embarrassed that the future you worked towards has not arrived. You may begin questioning whether your education was worth it or whether you have anything meaningful to offer. Your qualifications have not lost their value. You may simply need help turning what you know into something employers can understand, recognise and act upon.

That can include:

  • Practical workplace experience.
  • A clearer professional identity.
  • Stronger communication and interview skills.
  • A more effective CV and LinkedIn profile.
  • Digital, commercial and artificial-intelligence skills.
  • Better visibility and access to employers.
  • The confidence to communicate your potential without apologising for your lack of experience.

You may need more than another version of your CV. You may need an environment that helps you discover where your knowledge, ability and personality can create real value.

WHEN A SUCCESSFUL CAREER SUDDENLY DISAPPEARS

Your Job May Have Ended. Your Ability Did Not.

Imagine a woman in her forties who has spent years building a successful career. She earns £70,000 a year. She manages responsibility, supports colleagues and has developed substantial professional knowledge. Then her role is removed. Within a short period, she moves from professional and financial security to unemployment, Universal Credit applications, mortgage concerns and uncertainty about what happens next. She applies for positions she knows she can perform. Some employers do not respond. Others tell her she is overqualified. Some appear concerned about her previous salary.

As the months pass, the confidence that helped create her career can begin to disappear. She may no longer introduce herself through the position she once held. She may avoid people because she does not want to explain what happened. She may start applying for increasingly unsuitable jobs because fear has replaced direction. But redundancy did not remove her experience. Unemployment did not erase her leadership ability. Claiming Universal Credit did not make her less intelligent, capable or valuable. Her circumstances changed.

She did not become a different person overnight. This experience can happen at 30, 40, 50 or beyond. Government figures recorded an employment rate of 71.6% among people aged 50 to 64 in 2025, with an economic inactivity rate of 26.1% for the same age group. The figures also show a continuing employment-rate gap between adults aged 35 to 49 and those aged 50 to 64. Experience should be an advantage. It should never become the reason someone feels invisible.

WORKING, BUT NO LONGER LIVING

You Can Have a Job and Still Feel Completely Stuck

Not everyone who needs change is unemployed. Millions of people continue going to work while privately feeling that their life is no longer working for them. You get up, travel to work, complete the day and return home. Your salary arrives and immediately disappears into the mortgage or rent, food, energy, travel, insurance, childcare and everyday household expenses. You are working, but you do not feel that you are moving forward. Official figures showed that overall UK household costs increased by 3.6% in the year to March 2026. Private-renter and social-renter households experienced annual cost increases of 3.7%. In March 2026, 67% of adults surveyed said their cost of living had increased compared with the previous month. For many people, the pressure is not created by one dramatic event. It is created by the repetition of every day. Working harder but feeling no more secure.

Earning money but never feeling financially comfortable. Remaining in a job because changing direction feels too dangerous. Knowing you want more, but not knowing what “more” looks like. You may feel guilty for being unhappy because you have a job. You may tell yourself that other people have more serious problems. You may have responsibilities that make experimentation feel impossible.

But being employed does not automatically mean being fulfilled. Security can become a form of captivity when fear prevents you from imagining a different future. Wanting change does not make you ungrateful. It may mean you have reached the point where the life you built no longer reflects the person you have become.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Different Starting Points. One Need for Change.

This pathway is for adults aged 18 to 60-plus, with no fixed upper age limit. It is for the graduate who cannot secure an opportunity that reflects their qualifications. It is for the person who has completed hundreds of applications and no longer knows what to change. It is for the experienced professional who has been made redundant. It is for the adult claiming Universal Credit after years of continuous employment.

It is for the parent returning to work following childcare or caring responsibilities. It is for the person returning after illness, trauma or a prolonged career break. It is for the worker who feels financially trapped in a job they no longer enjoy. It is for the person in their forties or fifties who believes employers are beginning to overlook them. It is for someone who wants to retrain but cannot yet identify the right direction. It is for the person considering self-employment or starting a business. It is for anyone who knows they have more ability than their current circumstances allow them to demonstrate. You do not need to arrive with your future completely planned. You only need to recognise that your current position does not have to become your permanent destination.

THE HUMAN IMPACT

Losing Direction Can Affect More Than Your Income

A job is rarely just a job. It can become connected to identity, routine, confidence, social interaction, financial security and a sense of personal contribution. When work disappears, all of those things can be affected at once. When someone remains in work but feels chronically stuck, a different type of decline can begin.

Motivation reduces. Confidence weakens. Relationships feel the pressure. People stop making plans because they no longer trust the future. A capable person may begin questioning whether they still have anything valuable to contribute. A graduate who was once excited about the future may begin hiding from conversations about work. An experienced professional may lose the confidence to pursue positions at the level they previously held. Someone trapped in the wrong career may stop imagining alternatives because daily survival has taken over.

I’M MORE exists to interrupt that decline. We do not define you by your current salary, age, job title, employment status, qualifications or the number of rejection emails you have received. We begin with the person behind the circumstances. Because before someone can build a different future, they often need to see themselves differently again.

Discover. Believe. Become.

Discover

Discover the strengths, experience, transferable skills and personal qualities you may have stopped recognising in yourself. Understand what matters to you now, rather than automatically continuing towards something that mattered ten or twenty years ago. Examine your current position honestly and begin identifying realistic employment, career, business and development opportunities. Discovery is not about pretending everything is fine. It is about understanding where you are, what you possess and what could be possible from here.

Believe

Rebuild confidence following redundancy, rejection, disappointment or years of feeling stuck. Learn to communicate your experience without apologising for your age, career history or current circumstances. Challenge the internal story that tells you it is too late, too risky or no longer possible. Belief does not mean ignoring practical reality. It means recognising that your current circumstances are not the full measure of your capability.

Become

Turn renewed confidence and clarity into practical action. Develop a stronger employment strategy. Improve how you present yourself professionally. Build relevant digital and artificial-intelligence skills. Create meaningful connections. Explore employment, career change, retraining, self-employment and entrepreneurship. Becoming is not one dramatic moment. It is the process of moving from where you are towards the person and future you know may still be possible.

PRACTICAL DEVELOPMENT

More Than Another Employability Programme

I’M MORE is not built around telling people to submit another fifty applications using the same approach that has already failed them. It combines human transformation with practical progression. Depending on the programme, event or pathway, participants may explore:

  • Career direction and personal clarity.
  • Confidence and professional communication.
  • Transferable skills and experience mapping.
  • CV, LinkedIn and professional profile development.
  • Interview preparation and presentation.
  • Digital workplace skills.
  • Practical use of artificial intelligence.
  • Personal branding and professional visibility.
  • Networking and employer engagement.
  • Video CV development.
  • Entrepreneurship and self-employment.
  • Business ideas and opportunity validation.
  • Practical action planning and accountability.

The objective is not simply to help someone obtain any available job. It is to help them recognise their value, identify the right direction and begin moving towards an opportunity that makes sense for their life, experience and ambitions. No programme can guarantee employment, income or business success. What I’M MORE can provide is an environment designed to help people think differently, build confidence, develop practical capability and take more effective action.

AGE IS JUST A NUMBER

Your Experience Still Has Value

At 18, you may have energy and qualifications but need confidence, workplace experience and access to opportunity. At 25, you may be discovering that the career path you chose no longer feels right. At 35, you may have developed valuable skills while building a life you no longer want. At 45, you may have lost the security you believed your career had created. At 55, you may have decades of experience but feel employers have stopped looking beyond your age. At 65 or beyond, you may still have the desire to contribute, earn, build and create something meaningful.

Age is not a deadline. Redundancy is not a verdict. Unemployment is not an identity. A degree without the expected job is not failure. Being stuck is a position, not a permanent destination.

You have not reached the end of your usefulness. You may simply have reached the beginning of your next chapter.

A DIFFERENT POSSIBILITY

Your Next Opportunity May Be Something You Create

For some people, the next step will be another job. For others, it may be creating one. Your professional experience, practical knowledge, personal interests or understanding of a particular problem could become the foundation of a business. A person who has spent twenty years working inside an industry may understand problems that others would pay to solve. Someone who has been made redundant may possess valuable expertise that can be delivered independently. A graduate may have digital knowledge, creativity or technical capability that can be transformed into a service. A parent returning to work may need flexibility that traditional employment cannot provide.

You do not need to begin with a perfect business plan, significant investment or absolute certainty. You begin by exploring whether a genuine opportunity exists. You test the idea. You understand the person or business you want to help. You develop the commercial skills required to turn knowledge into value. Entrepreneurship is not the right answer for everyone. But for the right person, it can create independence, purpose, income and the opportunity to build something aligned with who they are becoming.

THE I’M MORE EXPERIENCE

Step Into a Room Where Change Is Expected

The I’M MORE experience brings together adults from different ages, industries, backgrounds and stages of life. Some are looking for their first meaningful opportunity. Some are rebuilding after redundancy. Some are returning to work. Some are considering a complete career change. Some want to start a business. Some are employed but know they cannot continue living and working in the same way.

This is not a room built around judgement. It is not a room where people are labelled according to their circumstances. It is a room built around possibility, practical development, human connection and forward movement. You may arrive feeling uncertain. You may arrive without a plan. You may arrive carrying disappointment that other people cannot see. That is allowed. You do not have to prove that you already have everything worked out. The purpose of the room is to help you begin discovering what comes next.

One Room. Different Circumstances. Shared Possibility.

YOUR NEXT CHAPTER

Your Current Circumstances Are Not Your Final Identity

You may have lost a job. You may have lost confidence. You may have lost sight of who you are and what you could become. You may be working every day but feel that your life has stopped moving forward. You may have qualifications that have not yet led to opportunity. You may have experience that employers have failed to recognise.

But your ability has not expired. Your experience has not disappeared. Your future has not been cancelled. You are more than your current circumstances. You are more than your last job title. You are more than the rejection, redundancy, uncertainty or disappointment you have experienced. The next chapter does not have to look like the chapter that came before it. Now is the time to discover what remains possible.

Frequently asked questions

Is I’M MORE only for unemployed people?

No. This pathway is for both employed and unemployed adults. Some participants may be looking for work after redundancy or university. Others may still be employed but want a career change, greater fulfilment, improved confidence or the opportunity to explore entrepreneurship.

Is there an upper age limit?

No fixed upper age limit applies to the paid adult pathway. The phrase “18 to 60-plus” reflects the broad audience, but people over 60 can still register and participate.

Can I attend if I am receiving Universal Credit?

Yes. Receiving Universal Credit does not prevent you from attending. However, free places are specifically reserved for eligible NEET participants aged 18 to 24 who are unemployed and receiving Universal Credit. Adults outside those criteria attend through the paid pathway.

What does the I’M MORE weekend cost?

The paid adult pathway costs £197 for the full weekend.

Can I attend if I already have a job?

Yes. The programme is also designed for people who are working but feel stuck, unfulfilled, financially pressured or ready to explore a different career or direction.

Is this a recruitment agency?

No. I’M MORE is not a recruitment agency and cannot guarantee employment. It helps people rebuild confidence, recognise transferable capability, strengthen practical skills and take more effective steps towards employment, career change or entrepreneurship.

Can I explore starting my own business?

Yes. Entrepreneurship and self-employment are important potential pathways. Participants can begin exploring their experience, ideas, audience, value proposition and the practical steps involved in developing a business opportunity.

Do I need to know what career I want before attending?

No. Many people arrive because they know something needs to change but do not yet know what the next step should be. Discovering direction is part of the process.

I’M MORE. I’M READY. ACTIVATE ME.

Your story isn’t over. Your future is waiting.

Let’s take the next step together.
